The World Internet Project was founded in the year 1998 to start a longitudinal empirical research program around the world to investigate the effects and the further development of the Internet. More than 35 countries were participating and presented national and comparative data in order to gather insights into all social aspects of the online world. The project has extended its scope and integrates also empirical findings about Artificial Intelligence. This, among many other results will be addressed during the bi-annual WIP-Meeting, which this year will take place in Berlin. The organizers welcome again the participating scientists from all the countries involved.
